Tragedy to Testimony
"To have a testimony, you must first go through a test."
The Lightning Strike
It began in April 2000. I went to the hospital for what should have been a simple outpatient surgery. Routine tests. Nothing serious. But "normal" ended that day.
The doctor said, "Scott... something isn't right." Then came the words that froze my world: “You have leukemia.”
No warning. No symptoms. It sat down at my table like it owned the place.
The Battle
The days that followed were a blur of chemotherapy, isolation, and uncertainty. There were nights I didn't think I'd see the morning. But in the darkest valley, I found something stronger than fear.
I realized that my diagnosis was not my identity. It was an assignment. Through faith and an unshakeable support system, I decided I wasn't just going to survive—I was going to thrive so I could pull others out of the fire.
The Mission Now
Today, I am cancer-free. But I didn't walk out of that hospital alone; I carry the stories of everyone still fighting. My life is now dedicated to speaking life into dry bones, supporting families affected by leukemia, and proving that there is life after the diagnosis.
